Had a white bass trip today and found them shallow with the 2 jig rig caught lots and kept 39. The wind was 20 to 35 mph out of the north and it was cold , so we found our fish on the not so windy banks in the big coves.

Tuesday, September 26th, 2006Fished 8 hrs. for what ever would bite and released them all. We threw crank baits, top water, worms, spinners, jigs and the Mann-o-Lure to catch bass , whites, yellows, drum and buffalo. We fished from the dam to point 6 and most our fish came shallow, the the last hour we used the M-O-L to fish deep and we caught at leased 200 lbs of buffalo just for the fun.

Saturday, September 16th, 2006Had the same guys again today and we did the same as yesterday and had 74 at the end of the day. We also caught and released some nice bass that hit the 2 jig rig on the shallow flats from mid lake north. We worked hard and covered a lot of wind blown banks and the fish were not on all of them , but when you found them it was good.

Friday, September 15th, 2006Fished for whites and found them shallow on the flats and kept 47. There was no wind in the mornings and it was slow, but when the wind picked up so did the bite. We used the 2 jig rig with 1/4 oz. heads and 3in tails in all colors and you need to hold your rod tip high and reel them FAST to keep your baits just under the surface. We seen a lot of them feeding on the surface and the sea gulls help us find them.

Sunday, September 10th, 2006What a turn around from yesterday, we fished for whites and had lots of wind so it should have been good. But, it wasn’t for us we fished 8hrs and tried deep and shallow and only had 19 to keep at the end of the trip. All our keepers were caught on 2jig rigs on shallow sand banks from point 3 north. I’ll be back out on Tuesday and hope it’s better.
